An Immersion Experience That Will Transform How You Lead
Imagine this: You’re standing in an open field, the crisp Colorado air filling your lungs, surrounded by the vast beauty of rolling prairie grass with the Rocky Mountains in the distance. The only sounds are the whisper of the wind through the pines and the rhythmic pounding of hooves. Then, you see them—a herd of powerful Clydesdales, moving in perfect harmony, responding instinctively to one another and their environment.
In that moment, you realize something profound: leadership isn’t about control—it’s about presence, adaptability, and connection.
This is the foundation of The Whole Heart Leader Retreat, an immersive experience designed to refine the skills that strong, dynamic leaders need in today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving world. Through powerful equine-assisted learning, you’ll develop the ability to read and respond to the energy in a room, adjust to changing dynamics with confidence, and lead with both clarity and heart. Whether you're a seasoned executive, a visionary entrepreneur, or an emerging leader, this retreat will equip you with the agility, awareness, and emotional intelligence to navigate challenges, inspire those around you, and lead with unwavering authenticity.
What you can expect...
Heightened Situational Awareness & Adaptability By working with Clydesdales—who respond instantly to energy, intention, and body language—you’ll learn to adjust your leadership approach in real-time, honing your ability to read the room, pivot when needed, and lead with confidence even in uncertainty.
Mastering Nonverbal & Intentional Communication Horses communicate almost entirely through presence, posture, and energy—offering a rare opportunity to refine your ability to lead through influence rather than force. You’ll leave with a deeper understanding of how to align your words, actions, and energy to inspire trust and engagement in those you lead.
Resilient Leadership Under Pressure True leadership is tested in the moments when things don’t go as planned. Through experiential learning with the horses, you’ll develop the composure and emotional agility to remain steady, make clear decisions amid uncertainty, and turn obstacles into opportunities.
Authentic Influence & Boundary-Setting Clydesdales respond to clear, intentional leadership—not authority alone. This experience will deepen your understanding of how to establish trust, set boundaries with confidence, and create an environment where others feel empowered to step up.
Tangible Strategies for Real-World Leadership This retreat is more than just an inspiring experience—it’s a launchpad for lasting transformation. You’ll leave with concrete action steps, tailored insights, and a leadership toolkit you can apply immediately to your career, team dynamics, and personal growth.

Testimonials
Here are what a few of our participants have to say about their experience:
Have you ever had your concept and depth of what it means to be a leader expanded? I was paired with the leader of the herd. She's a magnificent retired Budweiser Clydesdale named Maddie. She partners with Amy Budd at Whole Heart Ranch to provide a phenomenal leadership experience. Insights were unearthed into my leadership that I integrate into my life. This is a beautiful opportunity for leaders and teams!
"Tying this experience to work was insanely accurate"
Still glowing from a phenomenal week with Amy Budd at Whole Heart Ranch. My leadership retreat was everything I had dreamed of and then some. From the team building activity with the Clydesdales, to the meeting facility and lodging, to the catering. Whole Heart Ranch is the perfect spot for a company retreat. Thank you Amy for taking care of my team and our clients!
Working with Amy and her horses, as well as learning HeartMath has been transformational for my personal and professional business development. I found I was able to make clear decisions with ease, my employees didn't need to feel like they were walking on egg shells around me and at the end of the day I was not exhausted!

How this partnership came together...
When Amy & Stacy met on an introductory phone call 6 years ago, they both knew immediately that they would be life-long friends. The fact that they have a bit of an overlap with professional experiences, along with complimentary skillsets, made teaming up a perfect fit to help leaders grow even more than they could have imagined.
Partnering up to create The Whole Heart Leader, as well as their Master Mind program, Legacy Leadership: Leading With Heart, has been a natural evolution of their shared passion for helping others develop their leadership skills. With over 50 years of combined experience in various leadership roles, Amy and Stacy have seen firsthand the importance of leading with heart and building strong relationships based on trust, empathy, and mutual respect.
Their unique approach to leadership development, which incorporates working with horses to teach participants about nonverbal communication, emotional intelligence, and mindfulness, has been highly effective in helping leaders at all levels improve their skills and achieve greater success.
Through The Whole Heart Leader and Legacy Leadership: Leading With Heart programs, Amy and Stacy are committed to empowering leaders to tap into their full potential, to lead with purpose and passion, and to create positive change in their organizations and communities.
